Irvine, Calif., Nov. 3, 2015 – Roland DGA has introduced new Rolandprintstudio (RPS) software, specially designed for the Mac OS X operating system. In addition to making it possible to control a Roland printer, printer/cutter or stand-alone cutter with a Mac, this advanced yet easy-to-use RIP puts a host of features that save time and optimize efficiency at the user’s fingertips.
This 3D modeling software for Mac is user-friendly and has an easy learning curve. There are plenty of advanced options, which means Mudbox is still used for professional applications. If you’re interested in 3D printing, keep in mind that Mudbox does not export STL files, therefore you will need another software to convert your file.
New RPS software enhances the capabilities of Roland’s innovative inkjets and cutters, allowing for quick, simple and effective management of the entire print production process. It was developed in response to increasing demand from graphics houses and print businesses loyal to the Mac OS X interface as well as customers from high-production environments who rely on the stability of the Mac OS X architecture.
“RPS is a great new addition to the Roland product lineup,” said Eric Zimmerman, Roland DGA’s product manager, color products. “With its blazing fast, 64-bit processing capabilities, RPS increases overall production speeds and eliminates problems often associated with layers and transparencies. It also includes a wealth of tools that maximize available operating system resources and help users get the most out of their Roland printers.”
At the heart of RPS software is the Adobe PDF Print Engine, which renders artwork using native Adobe functionality. This allows users to streamline workflow and move swiftly and accurately through the entire RIP – Print - Cut process. Within the RPS software’s intuitive, multi-tasking environment, users can RIP, print and cut on two devices simultaneously. Unlimited hot folders help automate the RIP functionality, while an image bar stores and sorts images for fast access. RPS also includes an advanced nesting facility that minimizes media waste to help users save money on materials. Another useful RPS feature is its costing function, which allows you to automatically calculate print costs for easy quotations. There’s also a sophisticated spooler function that, in addition to enabling multiple users to submit to a print queue, allows for easy reprints by providing quick access to historical job settings.
RPS boasts a number of design features that reduce reliance on expensive design software. Users will find it simple to create specialty colors like White, Gloss or Metallic from CMYK data, and just as easy to adjust artwork for perfect pixel-to-pixel registration. All industry standard color libraries, such as RAL, HKS and Pantone color swatches, are already built in to the RPS software. RPS also incorporates an embedded profiling module that lets users create custom ICC profiles for accurate color reproduction and efficient ink consumption.
Advanced tiling functionality is part of the RPS package as well, making it easy to print and install larger graphics, tiles or vehicle wraps. There’s even a built-in tool that allows you to print grommet locations for accurate post-print finishing.
Affordably priced at $1,099 MSRP (U.S.), Rolandprintstudio RIP software is available through authorized Roland dealers. To learn more about RPS, or the complete Roland DGA product lineup, visit www.rolanddga.com.

Here we show how to program your own plugins for Repetier-Host: http://rhplugins.repetier.com
Repetier-Host works with almost all popular 3D FDM printers!Repetier-Host is your ALL-IN-ONE software solution, which gives you countless benefits:
Proved with more than 500.000 installations on different computers.
Multi Extruder Support
Repetier-Host can handle up to 16 extruders with different filament types and colors simultaneously and visualize the result with individual filament colors, so you can see your result before printing.
Multi Slicer Support
Repetier-Host includes directly 4 different slicers: Slic3r, Slic3r Prusa Edition, CuraEngine and Skeinforge
If that is not enough, you can use any other slicer you want with Repetier-Host.
After slicing you can see all extruder movements and support structures. You control the whole model, a particular area or individual layers and recognize potential problems before printing – this saves a lot of time and money.
